The plane table consists of a drawing board with arrangement for fixing on a tripod stand. There are various types of plane tables, depending upon the arrangement of fixing the boards to the tripod, leveling of the table and rotating arrangement in a horizontal plane. Figure 33.1 shows a simple plane table.
